Recreation & Sport

Recipient: Tony Balogh

Tony is a longstanding volunteer for Recreation in our Community. For over 25 years Tony was a member of the Rink Management Board, the Kipling Parks and Recreation Board, Minor Hockey and many others. Tony helped to improve and maintain Recreation facilities. Tony also coached Minor Hockey, Minor Ball, Senior Ball & Score Kept. Tony also volunteered with the Kipling Historical Society.

Culture & Heritage

Recipient: Gloria Ovans

Gloria has been a long-time member of the Kipling Historical Society. Gloria has most recently been serving as Board President working to ensure that Kipling and Area history will be preserved for future generations to learn from. Gloria is also a long-time member of the Kipling Legion Branch.

Community Involvement:

Recipient: Bob Steil

Bob has a long history of community involvement through his work with the Kipling Legion, Catholic Church and Kingswood Golf Course Committee. Bob also served as Kipling’s Fire Chief for many years. As Mayor of Kipling from 1992 to 2000 working to enhance and strengthen our community making it a better place to live

Youth

Recipient: Emily Wilson

Emily is always ready to lend a hand supporting her community through volunteering. She is a member of MADD, volunteers in the Ball Diamonds kitchen and recently the Kipling Food Bank Drive. Through her involvement with the SE Outer Limits Band, she attends the annual Legion Remembrance Day services and this year played the Last Post for the first time. Emily’s caring nature shines through in everything she does. Emily is also a Junior Firefighter for the Kipling Fire Department.

Senior

Recipients: Gloria Struble

Gloria has been a dedicated and passionate volunteer for the Lutheran Church and is their representative for the Kipling Ministries. Gloria is on the Board and works for the Kipling Food Bank and Kipling Winter Dance. This involvement has made a profound impact on countless lives. Gloria was also on the Kipling & District Chamber of Commerce Board for many years. Gloria is also on the Kipling Age Friendly Committee and also prepares for and leads the Older Adult Fitness classes.
